AMBITION

          Michael Weiskop is a TIME magazine reporter, a magazine published by the United States that is always present hot news from around the world. Michael is very ambitious to become famous. Because of that, he did not waste the opportunity when the TIME Editor offers who will cover the battle between U.S. troops with the Iraq in 2003 ago.

          Arriving in Iraq, Michael covered a battle by riding tank of the U.S. Army. At that time, there was an Iraq soldier threw a grenade toward the tank he was driving. As a result, his tank exploded and Michael had lost his right hand.

          Michael was taken back to the United States to obtain more intensive treatment. After Michael began recover, he realized his mistake and asked himself, “Why would I have been sent there to be a handicap like this? It was all because I was too ambitious.” The ambition is to spur  the spirit to go forward. Many successes achieved by someone based on ambition. But on the contrary, there is also a failure even great destruction occurs due to ambition. That’s because their ambitions are directed at the wrong things. As does Michael Weiskopf. He wants to do the dangerous job only to find the fame. Such a thing will not work, otherwise always end in vain. 

          As Zimri did, commander of Israelites chariots during the reign of King Elah. Zimri is so ambition to be a king and kill Ela and his entire family.           We certainly do not want the same thing happen to us just because we cannot control ourselves with our ambitions. Make ambition as encouragement, not as a goal to be achieved by any means especially in was that are not proper with God’s will. Do your best and leave all our plans to God, then the success will always color our steps until at last our dreams can be achieved as we expect.
